Theateronline: Hossein Soleimani, the well-known and experienced Iranian actor, has been selected as a jury member for the 7th edition of the “Amicorti” International Film Festival in Italy.
Soleimani, who began his acting career in childhood, has an impressive background in cinema, television, and international appearances. He has previously served as a jury member at other international festivals, and this time joins a multinational panel alongside figures from Argentina, the UK, and India to judge feature-length films.
Among Soleimani’s notable works are Mother’s Love, The Lizard, Hezarpa, (Terrestrial Verses), Shahrgoosh (TV series), Motherland (TV series), and the critically acclaimed Iranian film KULBARF. KULBARF is a socially conscious film that has garnered attention at international festivals and stands as a highlight in Soleimani’s career.
This year’s jury is chaired by Andrea Del Boca, the legendary Argentine film and television star. Del Boca began acting as a child with series such as Papá corazón and rose to international fame through beloved telenovelas like Celeste and Perla negra. Her emotional and dramatic acting style made her an iconic figure in Spanish-speaking countries, Italy, and even the Middle East throughout the 1980s and 1990s.
Joining her on the jury is Rajniesh Duggall, a prominent actor in Indian cinema.
The Amicorti Festival, directed and managed by Ntrita Rossi, the founder of the festival, is held annually and showcases independent filmmakers from around the world. This year’s edition will take place in Roccaraso, in the Abruzzo region (AQ), and has drawn considerable attention due to its international lineup of jury members. On the executive team, Milad Mansouri, director of the Iranian film KULBARF and the international project Nature Shot (featuring actors from Argentina and Italy), is joined by Deniz Motavaseli, a young actor, and Ntrita Rossi herself.
Hossein Soleimani’s selection as an international jury member once again highlights his talent, professionalism, and growing global reputation in the world of cinema.
